Message to the Youth by Ramandeep Kaur

“शक्तिमान् भव युवकः श्रद्दधानो दृढव्रतः।
इति मन्त्रं ददौ योऽसौ विवेकानन्ददेशकः॥”

My message for awakening self-confidence and inner strength among the youth is this:
Have unshakable faith in yourself, recognize your own potential, and remain firmly connected to your roots and culture. Always think positively, accept challenges as lessons, and channel your enthusiasm and energy into the building of the nation and society.

You are the future, and within you lies the power to transform the world.

“Believe in yourself, and the world will automatically begin to believe in you.”

Understand your inner strength and cultivate it.
Face your fears and step out of your comfort zone. Learn from failures and move forward—failure is not the end, but an opportunity to grow and learn.

Never forget Indian culture, language, and traditions. Only by remaining connected to your roots can you become truly strong.
Engage the mind in positive thoughts and in satsang (good and noble company). Spirituality becomes a source of energy and enthusiasm.
Enhance your capabilities through education and skill development. You are the future of the nation—use your strength to illuminate and uplift society.
Like Swami Vivekananda, become a lamp yourself, and enlighten society with your own light.

Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts on the awakening of strength were primarily centered on self-confidence, recognition of one’s inner power, and the awakening of latent potential. He believed that

“all the powers of the universe are already within us.”

Therefore, instead of considering ourselves weak, we must move forward inspired by the mantra, “Arise, awake, and do not stop until the goal is achieved.” This call invokes the awakening of the infinite divine power hidden within every human being.

Awaken self-confidence. By taking refuge in a worthy guru and attaining self-knowledge, perform all actions with confidence. Swami Vivekananda declared that considering oneself weak is the greatest sin. Within our soul exists limitless strength; therefore, faith in oneself is essential.
Awaken your inner power—for the entire cosmic force resides within us.

The call “Arise, awake” is his most famous mantra for the youth, urging them to abandon inertia and remain tirelessly active until success is achieved.

According to Swami Vivekananda, the awakening of strength does not come from outside, but from within. It arises through self-awareness, firm determination, and fearlessness. We must recognize our infinite potential and march toward our goals, overcoming every obstacle, because—

“Strength is life; weakness is death.”
